Touchstone (Cintanamni)

from Setting the Scene (vinyl reap version) by Rasa

about

This track was recorded in a studio in Solna, Sweden, for the album "Setting the Scene" I did with the group "Rasa." Although I had sung the song before and also had played it on the piano, specifically recording it in another style on the first Rasa album, "Oasis," this version was something I created on the spot and it was recorded in one take. Ah, to listen to my 31 year old voice again! Where has it gone?

1) I worship Govinda, the primeval Lord, the first progenitor who is tending the cows, yielding all desire, in abodes built with spiritual gems, surrounded by millions of purpose trees, always served with great reverence and affection by hundreds of thousands of lakshmis or gopis.

2) I worship Govinda, the primeval Lord, who is adept in playing on His flute, with blooming eyes like lotus petals with head decked with peacock's feather, with the figure of beauty tinged with the hue of blue clouds, and His unique loveliness charming millions of Cupids.

3) I worship Govinda, the primeval Lord, round whose neck is swinging a garland of flowers beautified with the moon-locket, whose two hands are adorned with the flute and jeweled ornaments, who always revels in pastimes of love, whose graceful threefold-bending form of Syamasundara is eternally manifest.

Rasa Bliss

The group RASA began in the summer of 1978. Robert Campagnola, then known as Harikesa Swami, had been playing devotional Sanskrit bhajans in a joking manner on a large organ. This turned into a band and many albums. Check his website link below for more information on his music and life. ... more
